Today I got a Facebook message from a relative of Jeanne Larmony concerning Jeanne’s 100th birthday. Jeanne was a passenger on ALM Flight 980, which I wrote about in my book 35 Miles From Shore. I remember visiting Jeanne in St. Maarten. I think she was about 88 or 89 when I met her. She lives within walking distance of the beach. So there’s all the proof you need about the health benefits of a little sun and water.
Update: I just learned from Jeanne’s granddaughter that Jeanne Larmony passed away on May 5, 2013. The ditching that Jeanne survived occurred almost 43 years ago to the day on May 2, 1970.
