I have some important news to report about my book Scapegoat. First up, Scapegoat has been selected as an Amazon Kindle Daily Deal for March 1, 2023. The last time I had a featured deal was on Goodreads. The book sold over 1,500 copies in a three-day period.
The Kindle Daily Deal goes out to millions of people who have signed up for daily deal notifications. It is also featured on the Amazon website. The deal price is $2.99. My distributor is going to extend the deal to all platforms including Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and Kobo. While the audiobook isn’t part of the deal, Amazon will discount the audiobook as well for anyone purchasing the eBook. So, I expect to see sales on this as well.
This is a great opportunity to get more people interested in this story.
Also, I am happy to announce that I have entered into an option purchase agreement with Michael-Ryan Fletchall at Experience Media Studios for both the book Scapegoat and my adapted screenplay Tailspin.
Michael is a writer/director/producer. He has worked in the camera department on some high-profile pictures, including The Perfect Storm and Castaway. Michael is also an instrument-rated pilot. You can read his Bio here.
Michael is going to turn the story into a ten-episode mini-series. With any luck, maybe the NTSB will finally have to take a serious look at the petitions for reconsideration still sitting in Washington.

I am delighted to learn that your book is gaining the literary, cultural and political attention that it so richly deserves. Those who knew Hoot Gibson will surely agree that he and the flight crew were shafted by a cold hearted spin campaign engineered by captains of industry that thought it necessary to protect a major US company and it’s workhorse product from the tragic consequences of one of its undiscovered flaws. The way that public opinion was effectively shaped by the combined efforts of the government agencies and the news media proved to be a harbinger of the process that began to reveal itself in the political arena of the following decades. I hope a forthcoming film will portray the critical players in the way that highlights their incredible performance under the most abjectly demanding of circumstances, and will bring to light the miraculous result of their actions.

Refreshing comment just above, from Mr. Wroe :
“. . . the flight crew were shafted by a cold hearted spin campaign engineered by captains of industry . . . necessary to protect a major US company . . . public opinion was effectively shaped by the combined efforts of the government agencies and the news media . . . .”
Dear Reader, take a moment :
===> email to _ [email protected] _ .
Maybe cite one §845.32 Petition, that ntsb has long ignored :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ssn61bT4oV7oe-5dQqkfENSMMmLdm_PL/view
Later in a 4May 1995 letter to the court
http://www.iprr.org/comps/pet727/PFR2.html
ntsb told judges [see paragraph seven] that “alpa” Petition would be addressed later by The Board:
“. . . On October 9, 1990, ALPA … Petition . . . This petition consists of 116 pages and claims that the Safety Board and all parties to the investigation erroneously assumed that the No. 7 leading edge slat . . . was the initiating cause of the accident. . . . The response to the ALPA petition is being handled separately in a manner independent of the subject petition from Captain Gibson. . . . ”
[ That 4May’95 NTSB statement proved false. ]
Now, after more than four decades of misinformation from NTSB, this new generation of “Board Members”
should now instead conform to COPE’s standards
for _retraction_ after ntsb’s “Scientific Misconduct”
