I wanted to give a quick update on my progress on the Spiral project. I completed the initial research stage at the end of last year. Since then I’ve been busy writing. I like to use the analogy of a jigsaw puzzle when trying to explain how the process works. Writing a book is very much like putting together a very large and complex jigsaw puzzle. During the research phase, you’re collecting pieces of the puzzle. As you get more pieces of the puzzle you find that some pieces fit, so you assemble them. Other pieces are set aside until I can determine where they go.
Right now I have the entire frame of the puzzle completed and large chunks of the inside assembled. If you were to look at the puzzle from above, you would be able to glimpse the completed puzzle.
As I continue to progress, there will be large chunks where I am missing pieces. In that case, I’ll have to go back on the road. For those of you that I have interviewed, there’s a good chance that I may contact you again for follow-up questions.
Things are going well. I’ll continue to post periodic updates.
