I’m happy to announce that the five-episode audio and video podcast series Framed: The Kit Martin Story has won a Gold Davey Award in the Video Podcast Series category.
The Davey Awards recognize outstanding work from smaller agencies, production companies, and independent creators. Competing against entries from across the country, Framed was honored with Gold recognition for its storytelling, research, production, and presentation.
While the personal recognition is certainly appreciated, winning an award was never the primary goal of the series.
Framed: The Kit Martin Story was created to bring attention to Kit Martin’s case and the ongoing fight to prove his innocence. The series represents hundreds of hours of research, interviews, writing, editing, and production. It was produced independently and without the financial resources often available to larger media organizations. The series was also released without monetization, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs: on the facts of the case and the search for justice.
There is power in numbers. Every new listener, viewer, share, and conversation helps bring additional awareness to Kit’s case. If this award encourages more people to watch the series and learn about what happened, then it serves a purpose far greater than personal recognition.
The series builds upon the work of many people who have spent years seeking justice for Kit Martin. Kit’s family provided invaluable support throughout the production, and I encourage anyone interested in the story to listen to the Free Kit Martin podcast, created by Crystal McKenzie and Stacey Stone. It helped bring attention to Kit’s story long before Framed was produced and remains an important resource for understanding the case. Those looking for a deeper examination of the events surrounding Kit’s conviction may also want to read I Will Ruin You: The Twisted Truth Behind the Kit Martin Murdert Trial.
While the series is available as an audio-only podcast, it was produced primarily as a video podcast. The entire five-episode series is available to watch for free on YouTube. A link is provided below.
