One of my favorite online sites is Goodreads.com. Goodreads is the place where people go to discover past, current, and upcoming books. It’s also a very good site for authors marketing their books. If you’re not a member, I encourage you to sign up. It’s free.
I wanted to put up an excerpt of the book on my site, but decided that a better idea would be to put the excerpt up on Goodreads. This way the excerpt is available to millions of potential readers as opposed to my four followers (check out the Facebook like page below). Of my four followers, my wife and I make up two.
So if you would like to read the first chapter of Scapegoat, just click on the Goodreads button in this post, or scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the link there. Both links will take you to the Scapegoat book page. Under the book cover image you’ll see a “read book” link. There’s also an option to download the eBook. This will let you download a PDF copy of the excerpt.
If you would like to help create some buzz for the book, a better option is to first sign up for Goodreads, if you’re not already a member. Then navigate to the Scapegoat book page and click on the “want to read” button. After you’ve done that, then you can read the excerpt. Also, you will notice a link to Amazon. The book is available for preorder on Amazon. If you would rather read the eBook version or listen to the audio version, then wait for those to be listed and then you can pre-order or place in your wish list.
